Stromag France is a wholly owned French subsidiary of Stromag AG

Formed in 1927 , Stromag France, with a staff of 190 , is today the world leader for industrial disc brakes; through its subsidiaries, agents and distributors worldwide, Stromag France exports more than 60% of its production.

Always a leader, Stromag France has installed the first industrial disc brakes in steel mills as early as 1966 .

For more than 50 years, Stromag France has developed, installed and maintained tens of thousands of industrial disc brakes worldwide for demanding applications like:

1927 : Foundation of the company
1945 : Industrialization of the first electromagnetic drum brake
1966 : Development of the first industrial disc brake for iron and steel industry
1971 : Presentation of a range of emergency stopping electromagnetic brakes
1976 : Opening of a Commercial and Service subsidiary in Germany
1983 : Presentation of the "SH" line of emergency stopping hydraulic brakes
1985 : Presentation of the first disc brake for windturbines
1987 : The "T" hydraulic caliper is introduced
1995 : Opening of a commercial subsidiary in China
1996 : Launching of the deceleration regulation CRD® system
1997 : Launching of the SH15 and SH25 hydraulic emergency brakes
2000 : Launching of the WACS auto. wear compensation system for hydraulic brakes
End of 2000 : Sime INDUSTRIE becomes Sime Stromag SAS
2007 : Sime Stromag SAS becomes Stromag France SAS

Stromag France masters modern design tools (Computer Assisted Design, Finite Element Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), bringing better and cheaper products. However, designing great products ... in a computer is not enough for us !

We prove our solutions in the world's most important testing facility devoted to industrial disc brakes. Extensive static and dynamic tests guarantee long term PERFORMANCE of our products before field installation.

PRODUCTION FACILITY - QUALITY CONTROLS

Manufacturing with the help of CAM on our NC machine-tools in our own works make our product outlast usual fabricated assembly; moreover, on-site control is continuous.
