Stromag France's Braking system description
(for each conveyor)

These CRD® braking systems complements conveyors already based on ON/OFF acting electro-mechanical brakes
  • Brakes:
    • 2 x Stromag France hydrospring applied - hydraulically proportionally released 3TY5 calipers (total torque: 2,200 .. 4,400 Nm).
    • 2 x Stromag France spring applied - electromagnetically released 645 calipers.
  • Disc: diam. 630 mm / thick. 30 mm / speed 1780 rpm.
  • Braking time: 7 .. 15 s.

Total braking time: 8,7 s. (mechanical braking)

Comments:
TY5 brakes are used only in case of overspeed, with a possibility to use them as main brakes in the future; Conveyor is fully loaded and goes overspeed (trigger: 106%) ... Regulated braking brings conveyor to standstill in required time with a pretty good smoothness !
