Disc Brakes (a few words about..)

Industrial disc brakes provide on demand a braking torque from a disc attached to the rotating equipment (pulley, shaft..). Resulting braking torque is a consequence of several factors; among them :
bullet_y.gif disc diameter,
bullet_y.gif number of calipers per disc,
bullet_y.gif pads quality,
bullet_y.gif heat dissipation . . .

Stromag France provides Fail safe, spring applied high quality disc brakes, which operate as follows :
indexo_1.gif (472 octets) opening of caliper is performed electrically or hydraulically (caliper is supplied with suitable power unit);
indexo_.gif (472 octets) braking torque is effected with the help of a spring - mechanical or hydraulic;
Stromag France also provides positive hydraulic disc brakes, the «BCH» series
indexo_.gif (472 octets) Service brakes are designed for day to day heavy duty, offer a near constant torque over caliper life, low and easy maintenance, and withstand millions of actuations - up to 1000 actuations/hour - before overhaul or replacement.
indexo_.gif (472 octets) Emergency brakes are designed for applications where security is imperative; operating conditions are:

Linings and discs also contribute to braking systems performance; linings - organic or sintered -, as well as discs (solid or ventilated) are Stromag France's supplies. All Stromag France brake's linings are "asbestos free" .
